The First part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 4, Scene 6: A field of battle.

In the battle near Bourdeaux, John Talbot is surrounded by the French, and Talbot fights in to rescue him. Talbot blames the regent for breaking his promise and leaving them exposed, then checks on his son and reminds him that he has saved his life. John responds with deep loyalty, calling Talbot twice his father because he has given him a second chance to live. Talbot urges him to flee so the family name can survive, but John refuses, saying flight would shame both of them. Talbot finally agrees that if John will not run, they must stay and fight together.
