The Life and Death of Julius Caesar — Act 1, Scene 2: A public place.

At the Lupercal celebration, Caesar has Calpurnia stand in Antony’s path during the race, hoping Antony’s touch will cure her barrenness. A soothsayer calls out a warning, and Caesar dismisses him. After the crowd leaves, Brutus and Cassius stay behind. Cassius notices Brutus seems troubled and begins drawing him into a conversation about Caesar’s growing power. He claims Rome’s greatness is being overshadowed by one man and tries to flatter Brutus as Caesar’s equal. When Caesar returns, he openly says Cassius looks dangerous. Casca then tells Brutus and Cassius that Caesar was offered a crown three times, refused it, and then fainted in the marketplace.
