The Life and Death of Julius Caesar — Act 5, Scene 3: Another part of the field.

In the battle’s confusion, Cassius and Titinius retreat to a hill as Cassius believes their side is losing. Pindarus, who serves Cassius, reports from above that Titinius has been surrounded by enemy horsemen and then apparently captured, which Cassius takes as proof that the fight is lost. Believing all is ruined, Cassius orders Pindarus to help him die with the same sword that killed Caesar, and Pindarus stabs him. When Titinius returns with Messala and learns Cassius is dead, he blames the mistake, crowns Cassius’s body with a garland, and kills himself. Brutus arrives with others, mourns both men, and orders their bodies moved aside before preparing his forces for another battle.
