The Life and Death of Richard the Second — Act 2, Scene 2: The palace.

In the palace, the Queen confides to Bushy and Bagot that she cannot shake a sadness she cannot name, and Bushy tries to explain it as only a mistake of grief. Green then arrives with worse news: Bolingbroke has landed at Ravenspurgh, and Northumberland, young Percy, Ross, Beaumond, Willoughby, and others have joined him. The Queen blames the news for deepening her sorrow. York enters grieving over the state of the kingdom, and a servant reports that the Duchess of Gloucester has died. York, shaken, orders men mustered, asks for money, and decides how to divide his loyalties. After he leaves, Bushy, Green, and Bagot fear the commons and separate for safety.
