The Life and Death of Richard the Third — Act 5, Scene 5: Another part of the field.

Richard and Richmond fight on the battlefield, and Richard is slain. After the retreat, Richmond returns with Derby and other lords, who praise his victory and place Richard’s crown on his head. Richmond asks after young George Stanley and learns he is safe in Leicester. He also asks which important men have died, and Derby names Norfolk, Ferrers, Brakenbury, and Brandon. Richmond orders honorable burial for the dead, a pardon for any soldiers who submit, and prayers for peace. He then speaks of ending the division between York and Lancaster by joining himself with Elizabeth, and he prays for lasting peace and protection from future treason.
