The Life of King Henry the Fifth — Act 2, Scene 4: France. The KING'S palace.

At the French court, the King of France gathers his nobles and orders them to strengthen the kingdom’s defenses now that Henry’s invasion is underway. The Dauphin tries to dismiss Henry as a reckless young ruler, but the Constable warns him not to underestimate the English king, reminding him of Henry’s disciplined conduct and past English victories in France. A messenger then announces that Henry’s ambassadors have arrived. Exeter presents Henry’s demand that France surrender the crown and his claim to the throne through Edward III. The Dauphin answers with contempt about the tennis balls he had sent Henry, and Exeter warns that Henry will answer the insult with war.
