The Merry Wives of Windsor — Act 2, Scene 1: Before PAGE'S house.

Mistress Page reads a love letter from Falstaff and is outraged that he has dared to court her with the same sort of letter he sent Mistress Ford. Mistress Ford arrives with an almost identical letter, and the two women compare them, laugh at the sameness, and decide to trick and punish Falstaff by encouraging him and delaying him. Ford and Page enter with Pistol and Nym, who separately tell each husband that Falstaff is after his wife. Ford is shaken and resolves to investigate, while Page doubts the accusations. Mistress Page and Mistress Ford then bring in Mistress Quickly and begin planning how to use her against Falstaff before Page and Ford continue arguing the matter.
