The Merry Wives of Windsor — Act 4, Scene 1: A street.

Mistress Page and Mistress Quickly discuss Falstaff, who is already at Master Ford’s or soon will be, and Quickly says Mistress Ford wants Mistress Page to come at once. Before leaving, Mistress Page decides to have her young son, William, tested by Sir Hugh Evans, who arrives just as she wants to hold a lesson. Evans quizzes William on grammar and Latin forms, while Quickly keeps interrupting with foolish comments that annoy him. William answers some questions correctly, though Evans corrects him several times and finally dismisses him to play. Mistress Page is pleased to see he has more learning than she expected, and Evans takes his leave.
