The Second part of King Henry the Fourth — Act 2, Scene 2: London. Another street.

Prince Henry and Poins enter London tired from travel, and Henry jokes bitterly about his own princely rank while admitting that his father’s illness weighs on him. Poins teases him for acting like a regular companion instead of a grieving son, and Henry says his rough company has made it harder to show sorrow openly. Bardolph then arrives with Falstaff’s page, and the prince and Poins mock the boy’s corruption and read Falstaff’s letter, which is full of self-importance and jokes at Poins’s expense. Henry learns Falstaff is at Eastcheap with Mistress Quickly and Doll Tearsheet, and he and Poins decide to visit him in disguise as servants.
