The Second part of King Henry the Fourth — Act 4, Scene 3: Another part of the forest.

In the forest, Falstaff meets Sir John Colevile and forces him to yield, jokingly treating him as a defeated traitor. Prince John of Lancaster then arrives with Westmoreland and other nobles, rebukes Falstaff for appearing only after the fighting is over, and orders Colevile taken to York for execution. Lancaster says the king is seriously ill and sends Westmoreland ahead to the court, while Falstaff asks permission to travel through Gloucestershire and hopes to be spoken well of. After the others leave, Falstaff reflects on Prince Harry’s coolness toward him and launches into a long defense of sack as the drink that gives men wit, warmth, and courage.
