The Second part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 2, Scene 3: A hall of justice.

King Henry presides over the punishment of Eleanor and the conjurers, sentencing Eleanor to public penance and banishment, while Margaret Jourdain, Southwell, Hume, and Bolingbroke are sent to prison and execution. Gloucester is forced to give up his staff as Protector, and he leaves in grief, unable to defend his wife because the law has condemned her. Margaret and Suffolk gloat over his humiliation, but York then calls attention to the trial by combat between Horner the armourer and his apprentice Peter. The two are brought in, Horner drunkenly challenges Peter, Peter strikes him down, and Horner confesses treason before dying. Henry declares Peter innocent and rewards him.
