The Third part of King Henry the Sixth — Act 1, Scene 1: London. The Parliament-house.

In the Parliament-house in London, York, Edward, Richard, Warwick, and their soldiers arrive after battle, carrying the heads and blood of defeated enemies. York takes the throne, and Warwick urges him to claim the crown. King Henry enters with Clifford, Northumberland, Westmoreland, and Exeter, and both sides argue over Henry’s right to rule and York’s claim by inheritance. Warwick threatens force, but Henry agrees to keep the crown for life and pass it to York and his heirs. After York’s followers leave, Queen Margaret arrives in fury, denounces Henry for disinheriting their son, and departs with Prince Edward, leaving Henry grieving and anxious.
