The Tragedy of Coriolanus — Act 5, Scene 5: The same. A street near the gate.

Two Roman senators lead Volumnia, Virgilia, Valeria, and other followers across the stage in public triumph. They call Volumnia the savior of Rome and urge the city to gather its tribes, thank the gods, light celebratory fires, and scatter flowers in honor of the women’s success. They also declare that the uproar that once drove out Coriolanus should now be replaced by a joyful welcome for his mother. The crowd responds by greeting the women warmly, and the scene ends with drums, trumpets, and a festive exit.
