The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark — Act 5, Scene 1: A churchyard.

In a churchyard, two gravediggers argue over whether Ophelia deserves Christian burial after her apparent suicide, and one works while singing. Hamlet and Horatio arrive and watch as the gravedigger tosses up skulls. Hamlet questions him, learns the grave is for Ophelia, and is told one skull belonged to Yorick, the king’s old jester. Holding the skull, Hamlet reflects on death and how all people, from fools to kings, end in decay. A funeral procession then enters with Ophelia’s body, led by Claudius, Gertrude, and Laertes. When Laertes leaps into the grave in grief, Hamlet reveals himself, jumps in after him, and the two fight until they are parted. Claudius orders Horatio to stay with Hamlet.
