The Tragedy of Macbeth — Act 3, Scene 1: Forres. The palace.

At Macbeth’s palace, Banquo privately reflects that Macbeth now has the kingship the witches promised, and he suspects Macbeth gained it by foul means. When Macbeth and Lady Macbeth enter as king and queen, they greet Banquo warmly and invite him to the evening feast. Macbeth questions Banquo about his plans to ride out and says they will speak later. After Banquo leaves, Macbeth admits he fears Banquo because of his courage and wisdom, and because the witches promised Banquo’s descendants a line of kings. Macbeth then calls in two murderers, argues that Banquo has wronged them, and persuades them to kill Banquo and also Fleance that night.
