Troilus and Cressida — Act 2, Scene 2: Troy. A room in Priam's palace.

In Priam’s palace, Priam raises the Greek demand that Troy should surrender Helen to end the war. Hector argues that, however dangerous the Greeks are, Helen is not worth the deaths and losses already suffered, and he reasons that it would be wiser to give her up. Troilus angrily rejects this, insisting that honor cannot be measured by practical calculation. Helenus also questions Priam’s policy, and Troilus answers him sharply. Cassandra rushes in in a fit of prophecy, warning that Troy will burn unless Helen is returned, but her cries do not move the men. Paris then defends keeping Helen, and Hector finally agrees to hold her, while also mentioning a Greek challenge he has sent.
