Twelfth Night — Act 3, Scene 4: OLIVIA's garden.

Olivia waits for Cesario and asks Maria to bring Malvolio, who arrives smiling foolishly in the yellow stockings and cross-garters from the forged letter. Olivia quickly sees he is behaving strangely and leaves him, while Malvolio mistakes her concern for proof that her secret messages are working. Sir Toby, Fabian, and Maria mock him and decide to keep up the deception by treating him as mad. Sir Andrew then brings a challenge for Cesario, and Sir Toby frightens Cesario into preparing for a duel. As the fight begins, Antonio steps in to defend Cesario, but officers arrest him as Orsino’s enemy and take him away.
