The Winter's Tale — Act 5, Scene 1: A room in LEONTES' palace.

In Leontes’ palace, Cleomenes and Dion praise the king’s long repentance, while Paulina insists that he must keep remembering Hermione and should not think of marrying again. Leontes admits his guilt and says he will never take another wife without Paulina’s leave. A gentleman then announces the arrival of Prince Florizel of Bohemia and his princess. Leontes receives the young couple warmly and is struck by Perdita’s beauty and Florizel’s resemblance to Polixenes. A lord brings news that Polixenes is in the city and is pursuing his son, who has fled with a shepherd’s daughter. Leontes decides to go to Polixenes and asks others to follow him.
