The Life of King Henry the Fifth — Act 5, Scene 1: France. The English camp.

Fluellen and Gower discuss why Fluellen is wearing a leek even though Saint David’s Day has passed. Fluellen explains that Pistol mocked the leek and insulted him, so he intends to keep wearing it until he can settle the matter. When Pistol enters, Fluellen forces him to eat the leek, beats him with it, and makes him accept a groat as well. Gower sharply rebukes Pistol for mocking a Welsh tradition and for not backing up his words with courage. After they leave, Pistol learns that his wife, Nell, has died, and he decides to return to England and survive by thievery and deceit.
