The Tragedy of Coriolanus — Act 1, Scene 7: The gates of Corioli.

Titus Lartius has secured Corioli and now organizes its defense before moving on to join Cominius and Marcius. He orders the ports guarded and assigns the soldiers their duties, saying that if he sends for help, certain companies should come at once while the others keep the town only briefly. He warns that if the Romans lose the field outside, they cannot hope to hold the city. A lieutenant assures him they will keep careful watch. Lartius then tells them to shut the gates behind him and have the scout lead him to the Roman camp, and he exits with his men.
