Two Gentlemen of Verona — Act 4, Scene 3: The same.

Sir Eglamour comes to Silvia at her request, and she tells him she wants to leave Milan to join Valentine in Mantua. She praises Eglamour as a loyal and honorable gentleman and reminds him that he has known grief in love himself, so he should understand her situation. Silvia explains that her father wants her to marry Thurio, whom she hates, and asks Eglamour to escort her through the dangerous journey. He pities her, agrees to go with her, and asks when and where they should meet. Silvia says she will leave that evening and meet him at Friar Patrick’s cell after making confession.
